ABOUT THE ARTWORK:
Chris’s first pro graphic features a skeleton bursting out of a jack in the box — a bold metaphor for breaking free from limitations and embracing authenticity. It represents the idea of thinking outside the box, stepping out of your comfort zone, and owning who you are. Created in collaboration with VCJ, the design captures the raw feeling of self-discovery and transformation. Chris’s hope is that his graphic invites skaters to recognize each other, spark conversations, and build community, especially for those who might feel unseen or out of place.
Unbeknownst to both Chris and Court, the graphic would take on an even deeper meaning. Court was in the middle of designing the piece when he experienced a heart attack — a shocking event that mirrored the image he was drawing: a Jack in the Box, heart at its center, radiating outward. What started as a playful idea became a raw, symbolic reflection of life’s unpredictability, and a reminder of how art, emotion, and experience are often more connected than we realize.

Perfect shape & concave. This looks sick AF in person! The nose and tail are beautiful and I find riding this to be unbelievably empowering. Powell Peralta has raised the bar beyond other skateboard companies with this new innovative design that underwent 2+ years of research & development, which might be the longest development cycle of any skateboard deck, ever made. There are very few decks in existence with a wider front and rear foot area that also incorporate the features of modern day competition decks (popsicle/symmetrical boards). This deck holds a special place in the world, as there is nothing like it incorporating style and innovations from the entire history of skateboarding. This deck is not a “cruiser” or “old school” board, nor does it ride like one. This is a futuristic design that goes beyond board designs from the entire history of skateboard design. It may have a non-Popsicle shape, but it also has features that allow technical skating to be performed with greater ease. Thank you so much to Christopher Hiett for this magic ride, and please Powell - make this special skateboard part of your permanent catalog. Offering this deck in it's current version and in a version with a double-drilled front truck hole pattern with a 15.63” wheelbase for larger transition riding would win Powell Peralta a lot of credibility and favor with skaters of all generations. Idk where to start! Christopher was a young kid coming into our local shop and from the first day I knew this day would come but did I know that his 1st pro board would be one of my favorite boards of all time? No I didn’t but let me tell you this board shape is unbelievable! Words can’t describe our much better this board is for ALOT of tricks! Good job Chris and the Powell team for getting us this beauty! You guys suck.... just kidding. You need to get more boards... Chris' board looks awesome, but I can't get one. Chris' style reminds me of Kevin Staabs in the 80's. Love it! I'm from the States, but living in Australia and want to get my hands on this board. Love the story behind it! Chris is awesome! Want to support him.
